In a way, diversity does balance, equality not.

This is why I think ‘Maintaining Cultural diversity as a world’ should be one of the sustainable development goals.

The world is a body like a human or any other (In the Sinhala language, the body is kaya “කය”, and the world is lo-kaya “ලෝකය”). A body is a unified field of behaviour. It has features that may behave individually in delineated ways. But each of those functions implies the body as a whole entity. It is essential to maintain these different functions within different features for there to be a body. Simultaneously, though features look unique, a boundary wherein they separate either from each other or from the body as a whole cannot be found.

Where do the neck ends and the head begins? A line can be drawn anywhere, of course. If you take a swad and slice it into two, it may appear to be two, but it won’t be a body any longer. Similarly, if you remove bees from a particular ecosystem, you will draw a specific type of vegetation with the same stroke. For are the bees and the plants from which they feed, features and functions of a single body. If not for the feature of moving and buzzing bees, the quality of iridescent flowers won’t be. Those unique and distinct functions define a body.
